Frederikssund Viking Village

Frederikssund Viking Village (Havnegade 5, Frederikssund) – located just a 50 km. dirve northwest of Copenhagen, tourists come here to see a Viking era settlement and experience how they lived and worked.  The village is constructed historically accurate and consists of five pit houses that have been used as workshops and in some cases temporary housing.  The pit houses are half buried — with a low floor level and consists of wattle, which in some cases has been covered with clay.  The Viking settlement also shows you a 25 meter long-house that has been used as their form of permanent housing.   There are also staged Viking plays.  Admission:  190 DKK (Adult), 50 DKK (Children under 12).  Free for children under 5 years.  See its website for more info and times:  www.vikingespil.dk
